The exhibition of plastics converting and tool producing on international fair in Celje in April 2009 has shown several changes compared to exhibitions in past years. Inspite of crisis the changes are probably to positive direction to innovations. Two years ago the majority of companies came from abroad offering converting machines and raw materials. There were some comments like “Slovenian fair is like microcopy of K or PLAST”. The conjuncture has not motivated SME to expose their products in past years. On the fair this year there was inspite of crisis bigger amount of expositors and many of them has shown quite new products. The first prize was given for new thermoplastic-elastomer blend, which is able to adhere to nearly any thermoplast in 2K injection moulding (Uteksol). Second prize earned the new magnetic absorber sheet for protection against EMI smog (Kolektor Magma). The third price was given for products made of biocomposites (Tehnos). Plasttechnics cluster and its technology center Poli-Eko were involved in all three development projects.

PLASTICS and ENERGY - Youth debating competition, Ljubljana 12.5.2008
How can we save energy, protect our climate and enable further technological progress at the same time? PlasticsEurope, Brussels, has started a European Youth debating competition for young opinion leaders. In ten European states, 1,000 young people will debate the questions of "Energy, climate protection and plastics". The 100 best debaters will take part in the final competition in the European Parliament in Brussels 2008.
